Everybody Do the Sprinkler!
Well we are getting a sprinkler system! Though many friends have offered to help us we are not doing it ourselves.
There are many reasons why, which may not really matter but here they are:
1. We don’t know how.
2. Kyle can’t plan on a Saturday to tackle such a feat. His line of work just isn’t that way
3. We hesitate to tackle it even WITH help, due to kyle’s schedule. (it’s murphy’s law that when we plan to work on a project someone dies.)
4. We have a contractor who is honoring a 2 year old bid!
5. Our yard IS all in, and it needs water as soon as we get to the right weather….
6. They can do it in a 2-3 day span, whereas it would take us months probably. If the yard were not it, we could spare the months of time working on it.
So there they are. We got a bid of $4500 for the whole yard {which is pretty big, and we have a lot of swell that we have decided to put grass into, not rocks}, drip lines and what not. It was back when we were building because we thought we might do it at the time and work it into the loan. We didn’t. A year went by. We thought we might do it last year, and had the same contractor (All American Yards) come back. They agree to still do it for the orginal bid. (Lucky us.) Again we didn’t’ do it. Anotehr year went by, and just this last fall, we had them come one more time….just to rebid it.
Again the offered to honor the original bid. At this point, we thought, we better get it done, besides how many more times can we get lucky enough for them to hold out on the original price? Surely it would cost more now, right? And so All American Yards will be here on Thursday for the exact layout and then will start on Friday.
WHOO HOO!
It’s a tough decision, when one has so many things they want for a home….fence, yards, water softeners, finished basements….
