*as a forewarning here, any snide comments about my spectacles and fashionable hair style will result in me de-friending you on facebook and removing your blog from my list....bwahahahah! If you have ever tried to take photos as a family you know the obstacle course ahead of you. It's straight up hill and a serious battle that is hard to win. My mom had 5 kids, 11 and under for this family picture. Now take that and add 5 cows to the mix. Yeah. My mom did incredible if you ask me! Except for one thing: the suspenders. They can be the butt of all the jokes*

The Re-Take
And of course we had to have a new family photo!
So without realizing it, when my dad selected cows for this photo retake, he selected 5 cows who had similar personality traits as each one of his kids. You should realize that cows are kind of like dogs. They can be trained, to some degree, and have personalities that are sometimes easily noticed by their caregivers.
*Side Note* I can not count how many times I have given detailed descriptions of my life with cows. From everything to milking cows and "mother's milk" to mastitis to flushing embryos to bras for cows udders. Seriously my friends know a few random "facts" about cows that they probably wish they didn't know! But its a fun subject and late at night after recipe swap is a perfect time to chat it up about the business of bovines.
As for the 5 cows and 5 kids these are the traits that noticed that were similar:
Gina and Arlene
Both short as ever, the smallest of the bunch, ans stubborn.
This Jersey has a bit of a rounded out figured, Hershey kiss-like. Also motherly.
(Seriously, the cow is so small in comparison to the others.)
Chad and Larissa
Long and lanky, even tempered, passive, and mellow.
Quite the sport and easily liked. Happy to be along for the ride.
(Seriously, so easy going my kids could have handled this cow.)
Janelle and Reginia (Pronounced Raw-gin-yah) aka Red One
Slightly wild and likes to speak up.
Also long and lanky, easily noticed, and stands out in a crowd. Well liked.
(Seriously, this cow bellered the whole time she got a bath, haircut, and traveled.
Even her name is complicated.)
Blake and Annette Bening
Likes attention.
(Oh, the irony here for me with her famous name)
Enjoys the scenery, really- and tagging along for fun.
Easy going, laid back style, and mellow.
Please note that the smiles nearly match.
(Seriously, this cow was just as chill as ever.)
Blaine and Honesty
Monstrous in size, these two are the largest of the crowd.
Confident, strong, and tough. Really tough.
(Seriously this cow was so large in size it was intimidating.)
