Stuff's Happening

LET'S SEE....

*doing toes is fun.  i like to chat with my friends and make their toes sparkle while i am at it.  it's great.

*did i mention, we joined melaleuca?  well, we did.  so far, i really like their dish detergent.  and the soap.  and the lotion.

*did i mention, we are hosting an exchange student?  we are.  nicole from Vienna, Austria.  we are so excited.

*also, worth noting, we are NOT going on our planned 10 year anniversary cruise.  did i mention this?  well, if so, here it is again.  we aren't going.  we are holding out til next May, and will celebrate 11 years, because it's the new thing to do.

*since we are not going on a cruise this year, we are taking our tax return and spending it on.....a bathroom!  the contractors are already coming and going.  framing is done, plumbing is coming at 8 am.  electrical and cabinets are at 1:30 tomorrow.  we have bids on everything now, so we are moving forward with it.  wooo hoooo!

*road show practice was canceled for tonight.  whew.  one more big practice, ten on to dress rehearsals.  then two shows.  then, it's will be over, and i will be sad.

*my brother in law ryan has this camera...well it takes four shots and then prints them out like a Polaroid...anyway, these are from this past weekend.

*grandma betty was able to come visit, which is always fun, but didn't help us focus on conference.  not that it's her fault, we just get to laughing and gabbing, and running to the store, etc.  we had so much fun.  janelle and ryan came up to see here too, so it was even more fun to get to visit with them, for the 3rd weekend out of like 4 weekends!  we are feeling spoiled.  cause we NEVER see each other this much.  we really don't.  but with grandpa in the hospital we went down and then grandpa's funeral caused them to come up, and then grandma coming all the way from Canada, they just had to come again, because we don't see her much....

we went to dinner on saturday night, and since kyle had worked all day, he hadn't been able to be with us until nearly 5 pm that day...we enjoyed going out with just adults.  we sat at jaker's and ate and laughed and then talked and talked.  we were the VERY LAST customers, i think.  poor wait staff.  they probably hate us.  but i don't think my dad has talked with us for that long in a very long time.

i am glad we were able to go and listen to his stories and talk about grandpa, my brothers, callings in church, and other random things like biggest loser, NCIS, and and House.  it was a treasured moment.  one that i know my weak mind will likely forget. i hope not though, and i hope i remember forever that i told my dad that i love him and that he is a great teacher!  cause he is.  i always prided myself in thinking i was as good as he was, when i was a missionary.  perhaps i was, and perhaps i wasn't, but i always hoped i was.

*i have been able to write down a scene that has been in my brain for a few weeks finally, and i am really happy with the progress of my 'book'.  i am ever grateful to friends who are reading along with me as i write it, coaching and offering ideas.  this book is a group effort, i think.

*SPRING BREAK.  this week is supposed to be a fun spring break type of week.  we have cold rainy weather, which i know, IS SPRING, but still.  i was hoping to set up the trampoline and let the kids get some air.  instead, i have promised that they can have a friend everyday of this week if they clean up the basement every night.  so far, so good.  monday brought ila, isaac, and stacey.  today they had leah and isaac.  tomorrow they want parker and makyra and i am planning on a photo shoot, two more sets of nails, plus the plumbers, electricians, and cabinet guys.  oh, and scott is coming back at noon.  so, not to busy of a day.

that's what happening, that i can think of or that i was wanting to jot down.

Fun blog. LOVED the roadshow picture. I still remember you doing that Manner's Fairy skit in Nampa. Too funny. I'm glad we got to catch up with you guys; I haven't laughed so hard in a very long time.
