I know it seems silly that I would get excited about a new storage room. And if you thought that was out of control, you should have seen my face when I got these babies. I'm sure you've had your fair share of measuring cups like these:
But these STAINLESS STEEL ones? Ohyeahmybabylovesmesomethingfierce. I was thrilled that Kyle 'got them for me'. I say that lightly, because he did, but I went to actually pay for them and bring them home from Rush's. Can't wait to cook up something, just to use them. I admit, he spoils me. And yes, those plastic babies hit the trash can with several 'tupperware' products missing lids, books missing pages, and a few empty cool whip containers. Just don't let me kids look in the trash. They'll find all the McDonalds toys too.
The thought of those shiny metal cups makes my heart flutter.
Ahhhh, *SIGH*
I spent the afternoon sweating. Not like a good work out, but more like: D&*& THIS CRAP IS HEAVY! But I moved and rearranged and rearranged our storage until it fit right. Those #10 cans with rice and sugar on the top shelf may or may not have cause me to swear once. Or twice. As I painstakingly put them on the top shelf. And why we're still keeping all the mail from our mission days, along with our journals, study manuals, and other odds and end related to our mission, is beyond me, but alas, there it is, in all it's glory, on the top shelves.
I had to move the water bottles 4 times until I was convinced there wasn't anywhere I would happy with them, and gave up on that.
Where's life's soundtrack song, I'm Sexy and I Know It when a girl needs it?
"I work out!"
Dont' roll your eyes at me.
Pish. Whatever. I saw you. You totally just rolled your eyes.
But with the aid of an 8 year old, an electric screw driver, a few band-aides, and a hammer, and my sheer determination, the 'room' is D.O.N.E.
I even dusted and organized my awesome ABC punch set and 1998 wood stamp collection.
Ambition, I tell ya.
On top of all that, I managed to organize a drawer in the kitchen and an entire kitchen cabinet. The one that hold all the Tupperware.
Yes, the scary one.
*shiver.*
I actually cooked a decent meal for dinner, did all the dishes, cleaned the kitchen up, swept and mopped, and (if you can't tell) blogged about my day and other events (see kids' blog). My goodness, I feel productive. {Kyle was the true saint however and bathed kids and did the PJ scene.....much harder job if you ask me.}
Because of all this however, I think I'll sit around all day tomorrow and watch my recorded episodes of The Bachelor, Once Upon a Time, and Private Practice. Just to balance it all out.
But not until after Jocelyn goes in for her Kindergarten checkup and shots and before Cate's Orthodontist checkup. Somewhere in the middle, I declare I will be lazy.
And bake up some cookies with those new shiny measuring cups.

And holy cow, I can't believe Jo is going to Kindergarten next fall. How time flies, right?
Just hinting... I mean, just sayin'.
And ya. You? Lazy? Pish, right. And I don't like chocolate either!
