Grandpa John Passed Away- A few more details

On Monday, Grandpa John {my mom's dad} passed away and by Tuesday we'd made arrangements to go to Canada for his funeral. Even though I hadn't seen him for years, I still wanted to go say goodbye.

I drove, taking my kids, my mother, and my sister. Good times. We left early Wednesday morning and made it to Grandma's with little trouble.   There was a moment in Montana that nearly had us going some other direction than north, but other than that.....

Thankfully, Janelle was a pretty good navigator. Except when we nearly missed that Montana turn off, and when we got to Canada, where had NO maps or GPS or anything. She was especially skilled when we were following Steve and Pam that one time. Except it wasn't them. And then they pulled up from behind us, and we could only laugh. Thank goodness the car that we THOUGHT was them was headed the right way!

We stayed with Shanna, as she was house sitting and had extra room. It made breakfast a little tricky, but other than that, it worked out great.  (The cats in that house were pure distraction and a little crazy!)

The funeral was on Friday, and it was very strange for all of us LDS crew. And it was absolutely freezing at the graveside, and I admit I was glad we didn't stay out there long. We had lunch and visited for sometime at the funeral home afterwards, and then it was back to Barbie's to hang out and visit.

We had a wonderful visit and it went by way to fast. I am not looking forward to doing it again when Grandma passes away. It will be much harder and so much sadder.

Anyway, here's a slew of snaps.
